How a conversion works

No workshop needed for most bikes. Here is what happens from first message to first ride.

  1. Tell us about your bike

Frame type, wheel size, rear dropout width and brakes. A couple of photos helps a lot.

  2. We match the kit

We suggest the power, battery and display that suit your bike and the way you ride.

  3. Free delivery

Your kit ships free anywhere in Australia, packed with everything you need to fit it.

  4. Fit it and ride

Most kits go on with basic tools. Stuck on a step? Message us and we will walk you through it.

Sur-Ron parts and upgrades

Already riding a Sur-Ron? We carry the bits that make it yours, from seats to the small parts that wear out first. We post fitting tutorials too, so you can see exactly how a part goes on.

Speed limiters

Set a top speed that suits where you are riding. Run a lower cap on shared paths, open it up on private land, or keep things gentle while a newer rider finds their feet.

Ride it where it is legal

In Australia an e-bike counts as a bicycle when it is pedal assisted, up to 250W and cuts out at 25 km/h. Kits above that are not road legal, so they are for private land and off-road tracks only. Rules can differ between states, so check yours before you ride. Our speed limiters help you keep things in check.

Quick answers

Will a conversion kit fit my bike?

Most kits fit standard mountain bikes and sturdy commuter frames. The things that matter are wheel size, rear dropout width, your brake type and room on the frame for the battery. Send us those details or a few photos and we will confirm before you buy.

Can I install the kit myself?

Usually, yes. A rear hub kit is mostly a wheel swap plus mounting the battery, controller and display. If you can change a tyre and use a set of allen keys you are most of the way there. If you would rather not, any local bike shop that works on e-bikes can fit it.

Are high-power kits legal on the road?

No. In Australia an e-bike is treated as a bicycle only when it is pedal assisted, rated up to 250W and cuts power at 25 km/h. Anything stronger is for private land and off-road use. Rules vary a little between states, so check your local road rules.
